Shorts for Going Out and Staying In

Most of what's in this collection falls into two groups: denim shorts built for actually going out, and softer French terry or cotton-blend pairs built for staying comfortable at home. The high-waisted bee and daisy embroidered denim and the frayed-hem Y2K pair are both meant to be worn as an outfit on their own, paired with a tucked-in top and sandals, done. The American flag French terry pair and the patriotic shortalls lean more toward loungewear or a low-key errand day, not something you'd dress all the way up.

Denim shorts in this collection run mostly high-waisted, which we lean into on purpose. A higher rise tends to hold its shape better through a day of wear than a low-rise cut, and it pairs more easily with cropped tops without that thing where everything shifts by 2pm. The floral rose print and the frayed raw-hem pair both photograph a little differently than they wear, running slightly more relaxed through the hip than the flat-lay suggests, and we mention that directly on those two listings.

The shortalls are the one genuinely different silhouette in this collection: full coverage through the torso with a short leg, built more for a specific western or Americana-leaning look than for everyday rotation. They're not for everyone, but for the people they're for, we don't carry anything else quite like them.

Because this is such a seasonal category for us, we restock denim styles more heavily heading into spring and summer and let the collection thin out over the colder months rather than force pieces that don't fit the season. If you're shopping this collection in the off-season and something's out of stock, it's very likely back by the time the weather actually calls for it.
