The Lab

The Lab: Where the Process Happens

Think of The Lab as the backstage area of the shop. This is where my original designs, the ones I’ve sketched, obsessed over, and refined with my factory friends finally come to life.

Small Batches, High Standards I keep our runs small so I can stay close to the process. When a Lab piece arrives at your door, you’re not just getting another item of clothing; you’re getting the result of a long, transparent journey between me, my reps, and the talented people on the factory floor.

Thanks for being patient with the process and for valuing the work that goes into every stitch. This is slow fashion, done right.💓

By only producing what is actually wanted and getting a feel for demand, because lets be honest, a design I love may be 'ew' to you. We avoid the waste of mass production and ensure that some garments have a home before it even leaves the factory. It’s a slower way of doing things, but it’s the most honest and least wasteful way I found to 'test the market.

I know that waiting for a pre-order takes a bit of patience, especially since international shipping timelines from the factory can be a little uncertain. To say thank you for supporting the process, I’ve built in two specific perks for Lab shoppers:

  • A Built-in Discount: All items in The Lab are listed at a discounted rate compared to their future retail price. It’s my way of making the "uncertain wait" worth your while.

  • The "Lab VIP" Coupon: When you purchase a Lab original, and it makes it to production, you’ll earn a 10% discount code that is yours to keep forever. You can use it on any and all future orders you place with us, no expiration, no catch. It’s a permanent thank-you for being one of the early supporters who helps make these designs a reality.

  • The Original Silk & Lace Design: Unlike typical "crowdfunding", when you back a project here you GET the product you're backing (provided it makes its goal). So the final product will be yours!

If a design doesn't hit its funding goal, the project doesn't move forward, and every single backer will get a full refund sent right back to their original payment method. You can check each project’s listing page to see the deadline. That deadline is simply the day we officially decide to call it—either we celebrate hitting the goal and start production, or we hit pause, refund your money, and pivot to the next design. It keeps things completely risk-free for you and beautifully honest for us.

Sometimes, yes! But definitely not all of them. If a design falls short because the timing was off or it needs a little tweaking (like a different fabric or color you guys actually want), we’ll absolutely give it a second life and re-list it down the road. But if a project gets a total collective 'crickets' from everyone, we take the hint, accept that it was a dud, and gracefully move on to something fresher. No offence taken!
